International Chinese
As China is becoming involved in the competition of the world, we urgently need new technology. Technology is always the first production as Deng Xiaoping said, who is honored as the “leading engineer” of the opening policy.
Faced with so many amashing challenges, China has built up it’s education level which puts new technology at the first place. This has come to effort in one way. More and more people are taking up high-tech as their jobs and more and more chinese have realized their dreams. For example, after 2008 Beijing Olympics, China show another big surprise to the world—it is Shen-Zhou 6. The man-made spaceship was sent out in Sep.25th, having drawn the attentation from all over the world. With this success, we have the right to be proud of ourselves.
However, we must know this is not enough. Let’s come to the other important thing, English.
This also seems a big chanllege. It is the truth that China lacks English lovers, China lacks English genius, China lacks English speakers and even worse, China lacks international Chinese. How many people can translate freely between Chinese and English? How many people can be a master of English speaking? We have many questions to ask. So to catch up with the developed countries, we still have a long long way to go.
To our delight, a chinese called Li Yang has set a good example for us. He has the passion to listento the tape 100 times. He has the metivation to write 100 times. Many people have been moved by his determination and perseverance. How time flies! It has been almost 20 years since he started his career. Now, he is still putting his heart to letting 300 million Chinese speak fluent English. He becomes famous, more importantly, he has to tally changed himself. He is a really international chinese.
As for us, we are not as excellent as Li Yang. But we should believe we have the same determination and we can do as well as Li Yang.
We are the hope of the 21st century. Our conduct will lift China up.
